Hi. I’m Diane Falvey. I own Iris & Lily Handcrafted Albums. I’ve been a crafter for many more years than I’d like to tell you (first at craft shows and now online). I’ve been doing the online part since 2002, and I’ve learned most of the stuff about selling online along the way on my own…which as you can imagine, meant many mistakes, some of them expensive, and lots of fun and creativity too.
What impresses me the most about selling online is how connect you can still be with your customers, even when you never meet face to face. I’ll be talking about my crafting, some of the things I’ve done to sell successfully online in places like eBay and now Etsy (I’m new there). You can sell your crafts online too. You don’t need a whole lot of knowledge and you don’t even need a website to start (although it is recommended at some point).
Join me here for different tips. You can learn from some of my mistakes and triumphs. I’m happy to share.
And to see what I do because that’s what I love, you can visit my online sites….
irisandlily.com (the website is my weakest link…you can go through the changes to that with me as I make them…but it’s fun to look at.)
I’m a non-pattern crafter too. I like to learn by doing. That’s like solving puzzles and it’s so much fun. All albums that you see on my site were designed by me…no patterns. Although I did consult bookbinding how-to books to make sure I use the best materials and the best methods to create the best products!
So funny…I just joined wordpress, etsy, and facebook as well. It’s such a small world! I wish you continued success in your beautiful bookbinding business!
I’ll stay tuned for more information; it seems you have much to share to those of us who are just beginning a small crafting business. Thanks!
Hi Erin,
I’d love to check out your Etsy shop! Please write again with the web address!! Best of luck!
